Don't let autumnal forest vibes and cute animals fool you, Root is a wargame. In this game you pick a faction to decide who is going to rule the forest, and the path to victory is not without a bit of outrage and turmoil. 

For Root it's absolutely necessary to prepare a bit before diving in: read the rules, watch some videos and be ready to learn. The game's main draw is that it's highly asymmetric: every faction operates on its own logic and breaks rules in subtle and not so subtle ways.
