One thing about Mrs. Nerd Alert is that she likes aviation. So naturally, when we have a moment to play, Sky Team, which is a game about safely landing a plane, is one of the first choices.

Sky Team is a two player game where you take on the roles of pilots: the Captain and the other one (first mate? I don’t know much about aviation…). You take turns making actions trying to keep the plane level, deploying landing gear and flaps and ideally get the plane on the ground safely by the end.

Sky Team is notable for its imposed communication limits. You can't talk during your turns, and in between when you can, you still can’t discuss the dice. It’s a nice into abstract thinking that’s gonna come in handy in other, more story-driven games.
